The Ivory Divide bassist Trent Harlow indicted on stalking, harassment charges

Prosecutors allege the longtime bassist repeatedly contacted and followed a woman after she told him to stop.

Trent Harlow, longtime bassist for The Ivory Divide, appeared in court Monday following his indictment on stalking and harassment charges.

Trent Harlow, longtime bassist for Los Angeles alternative rock band The Ivory Divide, has been indicted on charges alleging stalking and repeated unwanted communication with a woman who had asked him to leave her alone.

An Ohio grand jury charged Harlow with one count of menacing by stalking and multiple counts related to harassing communications, according to court records.

Prosecutors allege Harlow continued contacting the woman through phone calls, messages and alternate online accounts after she cut off communication. The indictment also alleges that he appeared at locations where she was expected to be and continued attempting to reach her after being told the contact was unwanted.

The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court. Harlow is presumed innocent unless convicted.

An attorney representing Harlow did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Harlow has performed with The Ivory Divide for several years and has also worked as a touring and session bassist. The band has not announced whether the indictment will affect his position or any scheduled appearances.

The case follows a separate controversy involving Harlow earlier this year. He briefly served as Bad Reception’s temporary bassist and was removed from the group after his only live performance amid allegations of unwanted behavior toward vocalist Riley Carter.

Bad Reception declined to comment on the indictment.

Court records did not immediately indicate when Harlow is expected to appear before a judge.

Additional details about the case are expected as proceedings continue.
